This is one of the features I really miss and wish was included with the Studio edition if possible!

this is already in the next version. XaMp studio was a complete rewrite so i had to add all the features back in |

Well, for some reason it isn't working for me. I guess I might want to reinstall and check messenger settings.

does trillian support this kind of stuff? i am not that familiar with trillian as i do not use it

Yeah, there are a couple of different types of plug-ins available.
This one works with WinAmp and shows the song that's playing in the Away message: http://trillian.cc/downloads/detail.php?item=352 . WinAmp has about 20 XM channels so if I am listening to one of them, it shows up in my Away message -- it would be awesome if there was a plug-in so XaMp can do this, too.
This one is a player/controller -- to play songs from the Trillian UI:
http://trillian.cc/downloads/detail.php?item=365 (slightly different, but still a cool idea because it keeps everything all in one place on the screen).

as of right now, i do not have time to look into creating a plugin for trillian as i want to focus more on the player itself. any ambitious programmer want to take a hack at it? looks like the plugin just searches for the active winamp and pulls info from it. the currently playing song information is in the window caption of xamp which you could search for using windows api calls.
